FFM7 - Sparks - Short Story
I don't believe in a spark. Sparks are for making fire or starting an engine. Love isn't a machine or a chemical reaction. There isn't such a thing as the right ignition method. Lust might have it; that might need a spark, but not Love. Certainly not Love.
Love isn't rational, nor simple. It is magical. Someone has to be kissed by an ethereal fluid that's what Love is, an ethereal substance waving softly on a spring morning breeze as she walks by. She'll be the Love of his life, just stepping out of the bus on her way to work.
It isn't an 'aha' moment when a switch makes the connection in his brain and everything moves in slowmo. Whe
'Ribbit, ribbit.'
'Who's there?' Rabbit says, sticking his nose out above the high grass.
'Ribbit.'
'Yes, that's my name, but who are you?'
'Ribbit.'
'Where are you?' Rabbit asks, eager to meet his namesake.
A bird in the apple tree hoots and flies over the pond. The shadows over the water startle the frog, and he dives.
'Rabbit?' Silence. 'Hello?'
'Hi!'
'Where are you?'
'Over here, under the rose hip bushes.' Rabbit hops towards the undergrowth.
'To the left, I'm under the bush beneath the apple tree.' The fox lies waiting under the thicket, guiding the rabbit to his spot. Slowly, slowly, just a few steps more...
'Ribbit.'

"You don't know squat, kid. You think you can just stroll right through this town, not caring about us poor guys you push out of your way? I don't know what your folks taught you, but that's not how things work in this town. You'd do good to watch your mouth from now on."
"Shut up, old man."
"And who you calling old, son? I'm only thirty. Just right for kicking your ass, and don't think I won't if you carry on working that smart mouth of yours."
"I said shut it. What part of that was too confusing for you?"
"What part of 'I can kick your ass' was confusing to you? I could show you if you want."
"I wouldn't want you to strain anything, ol

Of Wolves and Cast Iron Part 2
My mobile phone rang the minute I stepped out of the shower. I picked it up from the bedside table and answered it as I was pulling on my underwear. The screen showed a blocked number.
"Hullo?"
"Marty!"
"Hey Barry, looks like there's a lot more "
"Marty! What the bloody hell have you sent me!" Barry was more of a detached and disinterested personality rather than the excitable kind, so this was unusual behaviour. I could hear road noise in the background.
"Are you at a pay-phone?" I asked, somewhat confused. Barry owned multiple mobile phones.
"Yeah, the Feds are ripping my house apart! They've already been to the office an
I'm soooooo excited! NaNo is starting tonight :D I've been planning my novel for a month... so I hope to get some wordvomit out on paper in November and instead of thinking of writing a novel, actually DO it.
yay me!
Anyone else doing NaNo this year?
I decided to take on a challenge this month. It's Flash Fiction Writing Month! I'm going to try to write one piece of flash fiction (a story between 50-1000 words) a day. Oh dear. That's going to be tough! I'm not sure if I'm going to upload them all on Deviantart. I will only upload those which I think are not completely horrible.
Luckily there's Flash-Fic-Month (https://www.deviantart.com/flash-fic-month) to support all who take on this challenge.

'Now I ought certainly to tell you a story; but I don't know any more.'
'You can make up one directly,' answered the little boy. 'Mother says that everything you look at can be turned into a story, a
I just joined here as I saw and heard Deviantart has a large writingcommunity. Hopefully this will keep me motivated to keep on writing coming year. I love feedback, reading other peoples stories and babbling about writing in general. Oh, and Middle Ages. I love the Middle Ages. I know, has nothing to do with writing. Just thought I'd throw it out there.
I love strange and weird stories. Lately I'm totally into magical realism. Gabriel García Marquez is a GOD. Right up there with the other deities Oscar Wilde and Flaubert. Carlos Ruiz Zafon (different quality of writing, but reads way faster) is nice too. Loved Shadow of the Wind. Right
